Easter April 10, 2009

Filed under: April — The Blessed Pocket @ 12:43 pm

As we come upon Easter we can’t help but to reflect back on what our Savior did for us that day.

Jesus was not surprised by the actions of those around him,  he wasn’t caught off guard by the Roman Soldiers, nor was he shocked by the out cry for his crucifixion. by the people that Jesus served and healed just days before.  If we stop for a moment and contemplate how well he served,  never failing,  never stopped loving, and never turning anyone away….. How can we fail, stop loving, or turn people away?

Jesus gave up his life for us and we  have done nothing to deserve it ….. Jesus made the choice  for you and I.  All that is required of us is to believe.  Pray for the Spirit to come into your life and clean up your heart and make a home for the Holy Spirit of our Lord and Savior to live.

It was not the nails that kept Jesus on the Cross, it was His love for us……..

God Bless you

Emergency Utility Reserve January 4, 2009

Filed under: January — The Blessed Pocket @ 12:41 am

Church Club 1 is planning ways to be supportive in this time of economic down turn.  We are setting up a reserve fund that you may pay into each week/month that will be there for our members in need.  Here is a brief overview of how this reserve will work.  You may choose to donate any amount each week/month and place it in the tithe envelope with the “other”  line marked EUR.  The Church accountant will keep track of the reserve fund.  If a time ever arises that a Church family member needs help with a utility bill they are unable to pay, they would contact  the Blessed Pocket or the Pastoral staff  and let them know of their needs.  When the family gets back on their feet they will return the amount  borrowed for the next family to use.  This will be a way to help all of our Church families over and over. If you have any questions or concerns  Carri Norris or LorieAnn Larson can be reached by phone 253-826-4343 press 2 or email theblessedpocket@yahoo.com

To God Be The Glory!!! November 23, 2008

Filed under: November — The Blessed Pocket @ 3:45 pm

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.                    Matt 25:35

I can not say enough about our church family. Every year I praise God for all He does through the people of our church.  We asked for donations to feed the hungry in our community, and it was an overwhelming response.  We will be able to deliver 11 full baskets this year. The baskests went to families in our church, to Wilkeson Elementary School, White River Middle School and Bonney Lake food bank. Thank you so much for all of your generosity and support in this past month.  I look foreware to see how God will Bless us this Christmas season.

Make a Difference Day October 6, 2008

Filed under: october — The Blessed Pocket @ 4:00 pm

What is Make A Difference Day? Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of helping others — a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate.

Ask what your community needs.

Look around your community. Are people hungry, homeless or ill? Are parks or schools dirty or neglected? No matter where you live, there’s a need nearby. And on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, the next Make A Difference Day, millions of Americans are expected to roll up their sleeves to help others. You can act alone or enlist your friends, family and co-workers. Thousands of people across the community can band together. Maybe we can help you to help others. Explore this Web site http://www.usaweekend.com/diffday/howto.html  for project ideas and free team-building guides or call the Make A Difference Day Hot Line, 1-800-416-3824, for information.

Tell others what you’re doing and enlist help.

Register your plans in the Make A Difference DAYtaBANK, a national listing of local projects that will be viewed by interested volunteers, other people looking for good project ideas and news media looking for good stories to tell. It will only take a few minutes to register your plans in the DAYtaBANK hosted by Mindshares.org.

Do it!

Carry out your plans to help others on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008.

Tell us what you did.

Judges including Paul Newman will select 10 projects for the national Make A Difference Day Awards. To be considered, fill out the official entry form AFTER you do your Make A Difference Day project.

Put $10,000 from Paul Newman to good use.

The awards include $10,000 donations to 10 projects from Newman’s Own. Previous honorees who continue to excel will receive donations from the Gannett Foundation. Awards will be announced in a special report in USA WEEKEND in April 2009.

I hope to see everyone out in the community helping.  Don’t forget to check out www.makeadifferenceday.com.

Let’s get our game face on.

Our Amazing Volunteers! August 1, 2008

Filed under: July — The Blessed Pocket @ 11:57 am

We would like to thank ALL of our AMAZING volunteers that helped us at the Enumclaw Street Fair!

We had different volunteers throughout the day. The early shift helped with set up, many arrived in 2 hour intervals to ‘man’ the booth, and others ended the day with packing up and tearing down.

And we would like to give a SPECIAL THANK-YOU to all of the youth that helped to greet people walking by, ensure all kids recieved candy, and helped us to bring those walking by into our booth.

You are all AMAZING!!!

Market Bags June 18, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Blessed Pocket @ 10:22 pm

The crafty women of the Blessed Pocket are at it again. This time we made hand crafted market bags. Washington wants you to go green. So, show your support on stomping out poverty while helping the environment. Just as the aprons sales all proceeds will go to help families in need. More then ever we need your support, with the down turn of the economy – let’s prepare. It will take all of us working together; each doing a little and it will become a lot on it’s own.

A drop of water can’t do much; but a creek can change a landscape.

We are asking $15.00 for 1 and $25.00 for 2. We will have other colors and sizes so be sure to come check us out at the Enumclaw Street Fair July 25th-26th.

Thank You!!! May 13, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Blessed Pocket @ 11:27 am
